Richie + Mackenzie

Mackenzie and Richie are truly the definition of high school sweethearts. They met back in 2008 in their Junior year of high school. On their first date, Richie had just gotten his license and picked Mackenzie up in his light blue 2004 Ford Explorer. The two headed on their way to see a scary movie – hopefully giving Richie an excuse to hold Mackenzie’s hand. The magical evening wrapped up with ice cream at Colleen’s in Medford.

Throughout the years, Mackenzie and Richie’s relationship grew from being high school sweethearts, through college to their first jobs and eventually their first home together. They’ve have been by each other’s side for every milestone in life.

That brings us to November 21, 2017. Mackenzie describes herself as “the planner” in the relationship – so she felt like she was on to Richie any time he would make a plan to propose. He caught her off guard and surprised her on a quiet Tuesday night in their apartment.

Mackenzie came home to the house in darkness – Richie even unscrewed the light bulbs so she couldn’t turn the lights on. He had candles, roses, champagne waiting for her. When she finally walked inside, Richie got down on one knee to propose. Mackenzie thought she was coming home to dinner but their night quickly changed for the better when their families arrived to toast and celebrate.

Fast forward to midnight – they still hadn’t eaten dinner. So they enjoyed some Ellio’s frozen pizza and a glass of champagne to cap off the night!

February 9, 2019 – exactly 11 years from Richie and Mackenzie’s first date, they got married at the Immaculate Conception Parish. After a stunning and personal ceremony, the wedding party made their way (by TROLLEY!) to the reception at The Exchange Center.

The two always claim they’re competitive & quick to bring out the absolute best in one another. If a great wedding was a competition, this couple would top the ranks. From the speeches to dancing the night away, we could not have been more in awe of the love these two have for one another, their families and friends.

Congrats again to you, Richie and Mackenzie. We wish you nothing but the best and many happy years to come!
